Labor & Delivery

As far as writing for the Blog goes, the Beauty is out of commission. So I, the Jurist, will try my best to tell the labor and delivery story. Annie wants me to let you know that she reserve full re-write privileges to correct any "mistakes" I might include in this post.
Here's my beautiful wife. About 8:45pm last night, I was in the middle of a sweet round of golf at TPC Sawgrass. No, not in real life, but on Tiger Woods '09 Golf for the Wii. All of the sudden I saw my wife waddling to the bathroom. I ran in to see what was going on and she said "I think my water just broke." I instantly broke into fight or flight mode and start scrambling for anything and everything to throw into the car.

Before I could get my panties too far in a twist, in her caring voice Annie calmed me down and explained that we needed to call the hospital. I then dialed up the hospital to find out that we needed to wait an hour at home before going in. So what do I do? I went back to my sweet round of golf at TPC Sawgrass.

However, it wasn't so sweet given that my mind was racing 100 mphs wondering why I hadn't read all the birthing books Annie had asked me to read. I went from T16 to dead last in about 3 holes.
Here is Annie walking around the birthing room with her IV pole. The contractions were much easier to endure while standing. It was like the Annie 500. The only pit stops she made was for ice chips and the occasional back rub.
This is us getting ready to try the birthing ball. This too was better than laying down. It was very relaxing for Annie. Maybe a little too relaxing. Feel "free" to ask her about it.
Here she is with our wonderful nurse Patty. She was very supportive and willing to do anything we needed, that is anything but give the supportive husband a back rub.
Alright, the pics you've been waiting for. The star of this production, I give you Little Miss Brooklyn Ray. She is a cutie-pa-tutie with the Copier booty.
Here is a decent shot of her eyes. They are currently blue, but could change in the future we are told. It is also important to note her crimson locks. Let's just say I loved them from the moment I saw them. GO UTES!
Here I am introducing Red Ray to some of the finer things in life. Thankfully, she was born on a Monday. And not just any Monday, a week one Monday, meaning that there is a Monday Night Football double header tonight. Brooklyn likes Green Bay by 7 and she's taking the Broncos (or as she calls them "the ponies") by 3. I like here thoughts on the later game, but the cheese heads? Well, you can't teach them everything in a day.More pictures to come.

Wow! I only hope that I can look that beautiful before and after the labor process. Congratulations! I don't know what's up with Mini-Matt but he decided that he didn't want to have the same birthday as his cousin Brooklyn. :( Hopefully he'll join the party soon!

Congratulations you guys! I want to meet her! I'm glad everything went well. That is darling that she has red hair....but Annie, she's part Cougar, so don't let Regan lure her to the dark side of being a Ute ;)
You guys are in for a treat with this little one and I'm so happy for you! Being a parent is the greatest thing in the world (as I'm sure you have experienced so far)...a little bit of heaven in your hands.

It amazes me how beautiful and refreshed you look Annie and Regan is the one that looks like he just ran a marathon. Congrats! She is adorable. And I think that she even more adorable when I read that she's a Ute fan. I think you're outnumbered Annie.
